Hi, I’m Jeffrey Heijnen — a concert photographer from the Netherlands with a deep passion for capturing the raw energy of live music. My journey into photography started from behind the mic, as a member of a metal band. That experience gave me unique backstage access and introduced me to a world of organizers, musicians, and festivals that ultimately sparked my love for telling stories through the lens. In 2007, I earned my MBO diploma in Multimedia Design at Cibap in Zwolle. Wanting to deepen my creative vision within music and culture, I went on to study at the Academie voor Popcultuur in Leeuwarden, part of the Hanzehogeschool Groningen, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Design. It was there that I truly shaped my artistic identity at the intersection of design and music.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with festivals and organisations like 3voor12 Drenthe, Christmas Rocknight, Graceland Festival, Poppodium De Buze, Opwekking, Metalyard, RockAlive, Poppodium Emmen and more. These collaborations have allowed me to grow not just in skill, but also in connection with the heart of the music scene — from the big stage to the smallest, most intimate moments.
My style is grounded in emotion and energy. Whether it’s a powerful black-and-white shot that freezes a fleeting moment of vulnerability, or a vivid burst of color that captures the pulse of a crowd, I focus on stage dynamics, atmosphere, and the connection between artist and audience. Besides what happens under the stage lights, I also love working behind the scenes — capturing the quiet moments, raw emotions, and unique energy backstage that are just as much a part of the story. I aim to translate what you feel at a concert into a single frame.
